In this series of presentations, retina specialists from across the globe describe their experiences establishing retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) screening networks based on digital image capture technology. Each network is designed so that images from remote locations are submitted via the internet to a central reading center for interpretation by a seasoned expert pediatric retinologist. Programs like these can allow regional healthcare providers to overcome geographic limitations in accessing the best care possible for pre-term babies.
